Inox Clean Energy, a renewable energy platform under the INOXGFL Group, has formed a strategic partnership with RJ Corp to expand into the African renewable energy market. The move marks a major step in the global growth plans of both companies as they seek to build a strong presence outside India. As part of the joint venture, the partners have acquired Skypower Services MENA Ltd, giving them access to a strong pipeline of utility-scale solar projects across Zambia, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The first phase of the partnership will focus on commissioning around 570 MW of renewable energy capacity. These projects are supported by sovereign-guaranteed power purchase agreements, which reduce payment risks and provide long-term revenue visibility. The companies have already secured the required land and power evacuation infrastructure, which is expected to help in faster and smoother project execution.
The joint venture has outlined an ambitious plan to scale up its renewable energy portfolio in Africa to 2.5 GW by the financial year 2029. To support this expansion, the partners plan to raise debt funding from multilateral financial institutions. This funding structure is expected to strengthen the financial base of the platform and reduce overall project risk.
The expansion comes at a time when many African nations are increasing investments in clean and reliable power solutions. Countries such as Zambia, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of Congo are actively seeking to improve energy access and reduce dependence on conventional sources. The joint venture aims to support these goals by developing large-scale solar projects that can provide stable and affordable electricity.
Devansh Jain of the INOXGFL Group described the acquisition as a key milestone in the companyโs global growth journey. He said the move reflects Inox Clean Energyโs long-term commitment to expanding its renewable energy footprint beyond domestic markets. Ravi Jaipuria, Chairman of RJ Corp, said the partnership will combine technical strength with local business experience to deliver efficient and cost-effective clean power solutions.
By bringing together Inox Cleanโs expertise in solar manufacturing and project execution with RJ Corpโs presence in Africa, the companies aim to create a strong renewable energy platform in the region. The initiative also supports Inox Clean Energyโs larger goal of achieving 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2028, further strengthening its position as a growing international player in the clean energy sector.
