Streetleaf, the leading provider of solar-powered streetlight services in the United States, has announced its first installation in Austin, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion across Texas. Through a new agreement with Risewell Homes—a recently elevated Top 25 U.S. homebuilder—Streetleaf will illuminate the streets of Novel, a new master-planned community in the region.

According to Liam Ryan, this project builds on the company’s growing presence in the state. He noted that Streetleaf previously installed its solar-powered streetlights across neighborhoods in Fort Worth, helping strengthen lighting reliability in rapidly developing areas. Ryan added that as Texas communities continue to adopt renewable and resilient infrastructure, demand for solar-powered streetlighting solutions has significantly increased.

The new development in Austin will feature 40 of Streetleaf’s off-grid, solar-powered streetlights. These systems operate independently from the traditional power grid, making them a practical solution for regions increasingly affected by severe weather and fluctuating energy reliability. Equipped with built-in battery storage, continuous remote monitoring, and powered entirely by renewable energy, the lights remain operational during outages triggered by hurricanes, winter storms, or grid disruptions. This enhances both safety and long-term resilience for residents while reducing the operational and maintenance burdens often associated with conventional lighting.

Adib Khoury highlighted that the partnership aligns closely with the company’s commitment to sustainable and high-efficiency construction practices. He emphasized that Streetleaf’s grid-independent lighting provides homeowners with long-term cost savings, improved neighborhood safety, and a future-ready infrastructure solution suited for modern residential developments. Khoury added that integrating renewable-powered technologies into new communities strengthens their overall value and appeal.

Streetleaf’s installation in Austin represents another step in advancing resilient, solar-enabled infrastructure across Texas. As the state experiences rapid growth and increasing focus on sustainability, the company aims to expand its presence across additional cities and emerging residential communities.
