Voltalia, the international renewable energy company listed on Euronext Paris, and its newly created subsidiary, Renvolt, have announced the signing of a turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the ESB Wexford Hub project, a 124.2-megawatt solar power plant in Ireland. Renvolt, dedicated to construction and maintenance services, will lead the project, further strengthening its longstanding collaboration with ESB, Ireland’s semi-state energy services company. This partnership has already resulted in four projects either completed or under construction. Notably, in July 2025, ESB awarded Voltalia two turnkey EPC contracts for the Carriglong (43.7 megawatts) and Clashwilliam (49.2 megawatts) solar plants.
The Wexford Hub solar plant, located in County Wexford, will have a total capacity of 124.2 megawatts. Renvolt will apply its expertise in EPC to deliver the project and will also assume responsibility for an operation and maintenance (O&M) contract once construction is complete. Leveraging both local and international teams, Renvolt aims to ensure high performance, reliability, and timely delivery. The project highlights Renvolt’s ability to offer competitive and sustainable solutions while reinforcing its position as a strategic partner in Europe’s energy transition. With the addition of this new contract, Renvolt now has over 1 gigawatt of capacity under construction for third-party clients, cementing its role as a key contributor to Ireland’s transition to low-carbon energy.
Robert Klein, CEO of Voltalia, commented on the announcement, stating that the Wexford Hub contract demonstrates the company’s capacity to leverage its teams’ expertise and deliver reliable, competitive solutions in support of Ireland’s energy transition. He added that this achievement validates Voltalia’s strategy in a dynamic market where the company has already developed and commissioned several major projects. Klein emphasized Voltalia’s ongoing commitment to innovation and investment to help clients achieve their low-carbon goals while consolidating Renvolt’s position in Europe.
Eduardo Porras, CEO of Renvolt, reflected on the significance of the contract, describing it as a decisive milestone for the subsidiary and a demonstration of ESB’s continued confidence. He highlighted Renvolt’s commitment to delivering a high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective solar plant and expressed his pride in leading the subsidiary to further growth and contribution to the energy transition.
Renvolt, Voltalia’s dedicated services business unit, was created to respond to the evolving demands of the renewable energy market, which has shifted from a development-focused phase to one emphasizing operational efficiency and reliability. The subsidiary specializes in EPC and O&M services and draws on extensive international experience to support clients across multiple regions and time zones. By combining local expertise with global talent, Renvolt ensures consistent project execution and long-term client support.
Today, Renvolt has successfully built or has under construction 5.6 gigawatts of renewable energy projects and manages the operation and maintenance of 1.9 gigawatts of assets. Operating in 14 countries and employing more than 400 dedicated professionals, the company is positioned to deliver high-performance, reliable services worldwide. Renvolt’s mission is centered on transparency, quality, reliability, and integrity, enabling it to provide targeted and efficient services that support its clients’ success in the global energy transition.
