The Ministry of Energy has signed an implementation agreement with Goldenray Energy Limited for the development of a 118 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar power plant in Sinazongwe District in Zambia’s Southern Province.

The agreement was signed by Permanent Secretary – Electricity, Eng. The company is incorporated in Zambia and is backed by a major Dubai-based investment fund.

The planned 118MW solar facility is expected to commence electricity supply by early 2027. Once operational, the project will contribute to increased national generation capacity and support the Government’s efforts to expand renewable energy deployment and enhance energy security.
