UAE and Italy Explore Renewable Energy Cooperation During High-Level Meeting in Rome

Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, met with Giorgia Meloni during his working visit to Rome, where both leaders discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding their strategic partnership, with particular focus on renewable energy and emerging sectors.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the Italy and its people. Prime Minister Meloni, in turn, asked Sheikh Abdullah to convey her greetings to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and expressed her wishes for the continued prosperity of the UAE and its citizens.

The leaders reviewed various frameworks of bilateral cooperation within the UAE–Italy strategic partnership. Discussions highlighted opportunities to expand collaboration across several sectors, including the economy, trade, investment, renewable energy, sustainability, and artificial intelligence.

The meeting also addressed current regional and international developments, including security concerns following Iranian missile attacks affecting the UAE and other countries in the region. Sheikh Abdullah thanked Italy for its supportive stance and solidarity with the UAE.

Both sides emphasised the importance of enhancing efforts to promote sustainable security and stability across the region. Sheikh Abdullah noted that relations between the UAE and Italy are built on a long-standing foundation of constructive cooperation and reaffirmed the shared commitment to expanding collaboration across multiple sectors to advance sustainable development and economic prosperity.
