Roofsol Energy Pvt Ltd has signed a 7 MWp Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. under the OPEX model to supply solar power to the tyre manufacturer’s facility in Uttarakhand.
The solar project is expected to generate around 11–12 million units of green electricity annually. Once operational, the installation will help offset approximately 9,000–10,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year, contributing to the reduction of the plant’s overall carbon footprint.
The agreement aligns with JK Tyre’s ongoing efforts to integrate renewable energy into its manufacturing operations and advance its sustainability initiatives. As one of India’s major tyre manufacturers with a global presence, the company has been focusing on cleaner energy sources to support environmentally responsible production.
For Roofsol Energy, the project represents another addition to its growing portfolio of industrial solar installations delivered through the OPEX model, supporting businesses in transitioning toward renewable energy while optimizing operational costs.
