ACME Solar Holdings has commissioned an additional 155 MW / 470.25 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan through its subsidiaries. With this latest addition, the companyโ€™s total commissioned BESS capacity has reached 297.67 MW / 951.74 MWh. This is part of its larger plan to develop 835 MW / 3,114.64 MWh of energy storage projects across multiple special-purpose vehicles.

The newly commissioned systems are connected to the existing Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) and will operate on a merchant basis. This means the company will generate revenue by taking advantage of price differences between peak and non-peak electricity demand periods.

These battery storage systems are designed to store energy when demand is low and release it during high-demand hours. This helps improve power supply management and ensures better use of available electricity.

The projects are expected to strengthen grid reliability and support efficient energy distribution. By balancing supply and demand, the BESS installations will also contribute to improving overall grid stability, which is important as renewable energy capacity continues to grow in India.
