NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has taken a new step to expand its presence in the renewable energy sector. On March 24, 2026, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nxtra Data Limited at NTPC Bhawan in New Delhi.
The agreement was signed by Sarit Maheshwari, CEO of NGEL and NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, and Ashish Arora, CEO of Nxtra. The partnership aims to explore business opportunities focused on the development of renewable energy projects in India.
The main objective of this collaboration is to supply Renewable Energy Round-the-Clock (RE RTC) power to Nxtra’s data centers. Nxtra plans to use this clean energy for its captive consumption across multiple facilities located across the country. This move will help the company reduce its dependence on conventional power sources and lower its carbon emissions.
The demand for clean and reliable power is increasing in the data center sector due to rapid digital growth. With this agreement, Nxtra is looking to strengthen its sustainability efforts while ensuring uninterrupted power supply for its operations. For NGEL, this partnership supports its goal of expanding renewable energy capacity and helping industries shift toward greener power solutions.
The company shared details of this agreement under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. Manish Kumar, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, submitted the official disclosure to stock exchanges.
This development highlights the growing role of renewable energy in supporting India’s digital infrastructure and corporate sustainability targets.
