ACME Group has signed a 10-year binding Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement (GAPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India for the supply of 370,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of green ammonia, marking a significant milestone in India’s clean energy transition.

The agreement, valued at approximately ₹20,000 crore over its tenure, follows the Letters of Award (LoA) secured by ACME under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (Mode-2A, Tranche-I), part of India’s first large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia procurement initiative.

Under the contract, ACME will develop a green ammonia production facility in Odisha. The output will be supplied to six major fertilizer plants across five states, supporting the decarbonisation of the fertilizer sector and reducing dependence on imported grey ammonia.

The supply distribution includes facilities operated by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited in Kandla and Paradeep, Paradeep Phosphates Limited in Paradeep and Goa, India Potash Limited in Haldia, and Coromandel International Limited in Visakhapatnam.

SECI will act as an intermediary aggregator, having executed corresponding Green Ammonia Sale Agreements (GASA) with fertilizer companies to ensure long-term demand visibility and supply stability.

Commenting on the development, Anil Taparia, Chief Operating Officer of ACME’s Green Hydrogen and Ammonia business, said the agreement reflects the government’s vision to strengthen energy security in the fertilizer sector while demonstrating the commercial viability of green ammonia at scale.

The deal underscores India’s push to transition toward low-carbon industrial feedstocks under broader initiatives such as the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

ACME Group has been expanding its footprint in the green hydrogen space and currently operates an early-stage green hydrogen and ammonia facility. The company is also developing multiple large-scale green ammonia and green methanol projects in India and Oman, targeting both domestic consumption and export markets.

The latest agreement further consolidates ACME’s position in India’s emerging green hydrogen ecosystem while supporting the country’s long-term energy independence and net-zero ambitions.
