Hefei Puskey New Energy Technology has achieved a notable breakthrough in advanced solar manufacturing with the successful rollout of its first flexible perovskite solar module produced entirely through a CVD dry-process manufacturing route. The module was fabricated on a 300 mm ร 300 mm PET flexible substrate, marking an important step toward scalable production of lightweight, flexible photovoltaic solutions.
At the core of this development is Puskeyโs proprietary coherent vapor deposition (CVD) technology, a solvent-free manufacturing approach that differs significantly from conventional wet chemical processing used in many perovskite production methods. By eliminating organic solvents, the dry-process route offers improved process control, greater manufacturing consistency, and a cleaner production pathway with potential cost advantages at scale.
The newly developed flexible perovskite modules are designed to deliver a strong power-to-weight ratio while maintaining improved stability and uniformity across larger surface areas. These characteristics make the technology particularly attractive for emerging applications where traditional rigid solar panels are less practical.
By utilizing flexible substrates such as PET, PEN, PI, and stainless steel, the technology opens new possibilities for solar integration across curved and unconventional surfaces. Potential applications include building-integrated photovoltaics, automotive-integrated solar systems, portable power solutions, aerospace applications, and next-generation consumer electronics.
The successful commissioning of Puskeyโs pilot line highlights growing momentum in flexible perovskite commercialization and addresses one of the industryโs major challengesโscaling high-performance perovskite technology for real-world deployment. As global interest in lightweight and adaptable solar solutions rises, innovations like Puskeyโs dry-process flexible modules could play an important role in expanding the future applications of photovoltaic technology.
