NTPC Limited, a leading Government of India enterprise, has achieved a key milestone in its renewable energy expansion with the partial commissioning of its solar project in Telangana. In an official update dated May 2, 2026, the company confirmed that 100 MW out of the total 176 MW capacity at its Ramagundam Solar PV Project has started commercial operations.

The company stated that the project reached this stage after successful commissioning, and the commercial operation date has been considered effective from midnight on May 2, 2026. The announcement was formally communicated by Ritu Arora, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, in line with regulatory requirements under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

With this addition, NTPC has further strengthened its overall power generation capacity. The total installed capacity of the NTPC group has now reached 89,805 MW, while its total commercial capacity stands at 88,725 MW. This reflects the company’s steady progress in adding new power assets, especially in the renewable energy segment.

NTPC is expected to continue work on the remaining capacity of the 176 MW project in the coming months. Once fully operational, the project will contribute further to clean energy generation and help meet growing electricity demand in an environmentally responsible way.
