NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has invited bids for the Balance of System (BOS) package for developing 900 MW of grid-connected solar PV projects in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The project is divided into two parts, a 500 MW block and a 400 MW block, and bidders have the option to participate in one or both segments.

The scope of the project is wide and covers almost all activities required to build and operate the solar plant, except the supply of solar PV modules. Selected bidders will handle design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of the plant. In addition, they will be responsible for site preparation activities such as grading, surveys, and geotechnical studies.

The work also includes setting up tracker-based module mounting structures, electrical systems, and civil infrastructure needed for grid connectivity. This involves transformers, 33kV switchgear, internal roads, drainage systems, and security arrangements. A SCADA system will also be installed for monitoring and control. After commissioning, the contractor must manage the operation and maintenance of the plant for three years.

To participate in the bidding process, companies need to submit a Bid Security or Earnest Money Deposit (EMD). The amount depends on the capacity they are bidding for. For the 400 MW block, the EMD is INR 5 crore. For the 500 MW block, it is INR 10 crore. If a bidder chooses to bid for the full 900 MW capacity, the EMD requirement increases to INR 20 crore. Detailed information about performance security and other contract conditions is available in the full bidding document.

The tender follows a strict timeline. The bidding documents will be available for download from the ETS portal between May 11 and May 22, 2026. A pre-bid meeting and the last date for submitting queries are scheduled for May 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The final deadline for submitting both techno-commercial and price bids is June 5, 2026, by 2:00 PM. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 3:00 PM.

On the technical side, bidders must have prior experience in solar projects, either as developers or EPC contractors. They should have commissioned projects with a total capacity of at least 40 MWp, including at least one project of 10 MWp or more.
