Naqaa Sustainable Energy and Nama Power and Water Procurement Sign PPA for 2.7-GW Hybrid Renewable Energy Project in Oman

Naqaa Sustainable Energy has announced the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Continuous Renewable Energy Project in Mahout and Duqm through the O-Green platform, in partnership with Nama Power and Water Procurement and under the patronage of Sultan bin Salim bin Said Al Habsi.

The large-scale renewable energy project will integrate solar power, wind energy, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a combined installed generation capacity of 2.7 GW. The hybrid clean energy system is designed to deliver stable and reliable green electricity to the national grid of Oman.

According to the companies, the project represents a major milestone in the development of Oman’s future energy infrastructure and is expected to support the growth of advanced industries, data centres, advanced computing technologies, and green fuel production.

The initiative aligns with the Sultanate’s long-term sustainability and economic diversification objectives under Oman Vision 2040, which focuses on accelerating clean energy deployment and reducing carbon emissions across key industrial sectors.

Naqaa Sustainable Energy stated that the agreement reflects the company’s commitment to developing transformative renewable energy projects that contribute to the transition toward a lower-carbon economy while strengthening Oman’s position as a regional hub for clean energy and future-focused industries.
