Cypress Creek Secures USD 3.5 Billion Financing for Arkansas Solar and Energy Storage Project

Cypress Creek Renewables has secured USD 3.5 billion in financing to support the first two phases of the Arkansas Steel River Energy Center, a large-scale solar and battery energy storage project in the United States. The funding package will enable the development of significant renewable energy and storage capacity aimed at strengthening regional grid reliability.

The first two phases of the project are expected to deliver approximately 1.63 GW of solar generation capacity and 1.9 GWh of battery energy storage. Financing for the project was arranged with the participation of several major financial institutions, including Barclays, BNP Paribas, Santander, and Wells Fargo, alongside tax equity support from an undisclosed investor.

Upon completion of all three phases, the Arkansas Steel River Energy Center is projected to provide 2.45 GW of solar capacity and 2.9 GWh of battery storage by 2029. The project is expected to contribute to growing electricity demand while supporting the expansion of clean energy infrastructure and grid resilience across the region.
