Bondada Engineering Limited has received a major Notification of Award (NOA) from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) package of a large renewable energy project in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. The project includes the development of a 250 MW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) power plant along with a 50 MW/200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
The award marks a significant achievement for Bondada Engineering and further strengthens its position in India’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector. NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, one of the country’s leading public sector renewable energy companies, has entrusted Bondada with the responsibility of executing this large-scale project. The company stated that the award reflects NTPC’s confidence in Bondada’s engineering expertise, project execution capabilities, and track record in delivering renewable energy infrastructure projects.
According to the details disclosed by the company, the total value of the contract is approximately ₹1,338.03 crore, inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST). The project is expected to be completed within 18 months from the date of receipt of the Notification of Award.
With the addition of this project, Bondada Engineering’s Solar EPC order book has expanded to around 5.5 GWp, while its Battery Energy Storage System order book has grown to approximately 1.1 GWh. The company believes that the strengthened order pipeline will improve revenue visibility and provide strong momentum for future project execution.
Bondada Engineering further stated that the project is expected to contribute significantly to its future revenues and profitability while creating long-term value for shareholders. The company also clarified that neither its promoters nor promoter group entities have any interest in NTPC Renewable Energy Limited. Additionally, the contract does not fall under related-party transactions.
The Sitapur solar and energy storage project is expected to support India’s clean energy goals by enhancing renewable power generation capacity and strengthening grid reliability through integrated battery storage infrastructure.
