CleanChoice Energy, a U.S.-based clean energy provider that supplies 100% renewable electricity to homes and businesses, has expanded its retail operations into three new statesโ€”Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

With this expansion, nearly 1.5 million additional households across the Northeast will gain access to CleanChoiceโ€™s renewable electricity offering, joining customers across its existing markets.

The company, which owns renewable energy facilities and supplies clean electricity directly to consumers, said the expansion is aimed at improving access to renewable energy at a time of rising electricity demand, grid constraints, and increasing climate concerns.

CleanChoice enables customers to switch to renewable electricity through a simplified online sign-up process, without requiring changes to their existing utility provider. Under its model, electricity consumption is matched with renewable energy generated from wind and solar projects connected to regional grids, while customers continue receiving their standard utility bills with a separate clean energy charge.

According to the company, its customers help reduce significant carbon emissions, including preventing an estimated 5,382 pounds of coal use annually per household on average. Customers also receive periodic impact reports outlining their environmental contribution and updates on CleanChoice-owned solar projects.

Following the expansion, CleanChoice services are now available in 10 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., including Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The company also continues to expand its solar development portfolio across the Eastern United States, including operational and under-development projects in Pennsylvania, New York, and North Carolina.

CleanChoice Energy said the expansion reflects its broader strategy to increase both consumer access to renewable electricity and investment in new solar generation capacity to support growing demand for clean energy across regional power grids.
