Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is looking to strengthen its cooperation with Turkish companies in the energy, water, and infrastructure sectors. This was discussed during a meeting held at DEWA’s headquarters between HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, and HE Lütfullah Göktaş, Türkiye’s Ambassador to the UAE.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA. The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration and exploring investment opportunities that can benefit both the UAE and Türkiye.
During the meeting, Al Tayer presented DEWA’s key projects and future plans in the clean energy sector. He highlighted the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which is recognized as the largest single-site solar park in the world. He explained that the project plays an important role in supporting the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. These initiatives aim to increase the use of renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions across the emirate.
Al Tayer also spoke about the rapid development of the UAE’s energy sector. He noted that the country continues to invest in advanced technologies and sustainable solutions for electricity generation, water desalination, and efficient water management. He stressed the importance of sharing knowledge and expertise between countries to achieve long-term sustainability goals.
Ambassador Göktaş praised DEWA’s achievements in the fields of sustainability, clean energy, and water management. He acknowledged the authority’s efforts in developing innovative projects and improving utility services.
The ambassador also expressed Türkiye’s interest in expanding cooperation with DEWA through future development and investment initiatives. Both sides emphasized the importance of building stronger partnerships and exploring opportunities for collaboration. The meeting reflects the growing commitment of the UAE and Türkiye to work together in advancing sustainable energy, infrastructure development, and resource management for the future.
