Enfinity Global Expands Italy Solar Footprint to 535 MW, Advances 600 MW of Battery Storage Projects

Enfinity Global has surpassed 535 MW of operational solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity in Italy, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion across the country’s renewable energy sector.

The company said it has commissioned 18 operational solar PV plants across the Lazio and Emilia-Romagna regions over the past three years. Together, the facilities are expected to generate nearly 1 TWh of renewable electricity annually, avoiding approximately 290,904 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions each year—enough to meet the annual electricity demand of around 350,000 households.

According to Enfinity Global, the milestone reflects its ability to rapidly develop and commission renewable energy infrastructure to support Italy’s growing electricity demand, enhance energy security, and contribute to the country’s decarbonization objectives.

Alessandro Ceschiat, General Manager for Italy at Enfinity Global, said each operational megawatt strengthens Italy’s energy security, supports industrial competitiveness, and generates economic value, employment, and local development.

Maria Diez, General Manager for Operations in Europe at Enfinity Global, attributed the achievement to the company’s teams across Italy and Europe, as well as collaboration with industrial, financial, and institutional partners in delivering renewable energy projects.

The company also cited data from Elemens, which ranks Enfinity as the second-largest operator in Italy by authorised solar capacity, with more than 1 GW of approved projects. In addition, Enfinity has secured authorisation for approximately 600 MW of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity.

The operational assets and authorised projects form part of the company’s broader 9.1 GW renewable energy pipeline in Italy.

Enfinity Global added that the expansion of its Italian portfolio has been supported by its expertise in project financing and capital structuring, enabling the company to secure more than €1 billion in investment to develop its renewable energy portfolio in the country.
