JUSNL Invites Bids For INR7.14 Crore Consultancy To Strengthen Jharkhand Power Transmission Network

Jharkhand Urja Sancharan Nigam Limited (JUSNL) has invited bids from qualified consultancy firms to support the planning and development of the state’s power transmission network. The state-owned transmission utility has issued an e-tender to appoint a professional consultant for conducting load flow studies and evaluating the technical feasibility of future power infrastructure projects across Jharkhand. The assignment is aimed at strengthening the transmission system and ensuring it can efficiently accommodate upcoming power generation projects, new consumer loads, and advanced energy storage technologies over the next three years.

According to the tender notice issued by the Office of the General Manager (CRITL/O.E) in Ranchi, the selected consultant will carry out detailed technical studies of Jharkhand’s transmission network. The primary responsibility will be to perform comprehensive load flow studies to assess whether the existing grid can support proposed generation projects, including both renewable and conventional power plants. The consultant will also examine the impact of new electricity demand from consumers, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), grid substations, and proposed transmission lines. These studies are expected to help JUSNL identify any potential constraints in the network and recommend suitable measures to maintain grid stability and reliability as the state’s electricity infrastructure expands.

The estimated value of the consultancy contract is Rs. 7,14,19,500, inclusive of GST and all applicable taxes. JUSNL has adopted a two-part bidding process, under which interested firms must submit separate Technical and Financial Bids. To participate in the tender, bidders are required to deposit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs. 14,29,000 along with a non-refundable tender fee of Rs. 11,800. Both payments must be made online through the prescribed electronic payment methods. The selected consultant will be engaged for a period of three years.

JUSNL has also announced the schedule for the bidding process. The tender documents became available for download on July 7, 2026, and online submission of bids also commenced on the same day. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for July 14, 2026, at 4:30 PM to address queries from prospective bidders. The last date for submission of online bids is July 27, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The technical bids will be opened on July 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM, while the date for opening the financial bids will be communicated later to technically qualified bidders.

JUSNL has advised interested firms to download the complete tender documents, including the Bill of Quantities (BOQ), technical specifications, and terms and conditions, from the official Jharkhand e-procurement portal. The utility has clarified that bids will only be accepted through the online tendering system and has urged bidders to complete the submission process well before the deadline to avoid any delays caused by internet connectivity or technical issues. The corporation has also stated that it will not be responsible for any bid submission failures resulting from network disruptions or last-minute technical problems.
