August Energy has appointed Ravi Shaw as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Generation, strengthening its leadership team as the company expands its renewable energy business across India and Southeast Asia.
Shaw brings more than 17 years of experience in developing and scaling renewable energy platforms across Asia, with a track record of delivering over 5 GW of solar, wind, hybrid, and battery energy storage projects.
Prior to joining August Energy, Shaw played a key role in the renewable energy sector as a founding team member at two independent power producers. He also led the development of India’s largest round-the-clock captive renewable energy platform, a 1.3 GW project at ArcelorMittal Green Energy, representing more than US$700 million in capital investment. Most recently, he was associated with Alternatives, where he led the company’s development pipeline and contributed to its strategic growth.
In his new role, Shaw will oversee August Energy’s Generation business and support the company’s expansion strategy across India and Southeast Asia, with a focus on accelerating renewable energy deployment and advancing the region’s energy transition.
Commenting on the appointment, Vishal Jain, Managing Director of August Energy, said Shaw’s experience in developing and scaling large renewable energy platforms, combined with his operational and commercial expertise, would strengthen the company’s leadership team and support its long-term growth strategy.
Ravi Shaw said he was pleased to join August Energy and looked forward to contributing to the company’s expansion by delivering clean energy projects at scale across high-growth markets in Asia.
