Maharashtra Invites EOI For 115 MW Floating Solar + BESS Project At Manjara Dam

The Water Resources Department, Government of Maharashtra, has invited an Expression of Interest (EOI) for developing a 115 MW Floating Solar PV project integrated with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Manjara Dam in Kaij Taluka, Beed district. The project will be developed, operated, maintained, and managed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis.

The initiative aims to utilise the reservoir surface for clean energy generation while supporting Maharashtra’s renewable energy and energy storage goals. The EOI has been issued through the Executive Engineer, Latur Irrigation Division No. 1, Latur. Alongside the floating solar and BESS project, the notice also invites interest in leasing designated reservoir areas for fisheries and aquaculture activities under the Godavari Marathwada Irrigation Development Corporation (GMIDC).

Interested developers and empanelled bidders can access the tender documents through the Maharashtra government’s e-tendering portal. The process for downloading documents, seeking clarifications, and submitting bids begins on August 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The deadline for submitting clarifications is August 19, 2026, at 6:00 PM, while bids must be submitted by September 2, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the office of the Chief Engineer and Chief Administrator, Command Area Development, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Headquarters in Nanded. Bids will be opened on September 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Executive Engineer’s Office in Latur.

The bids will remain valid for 180 days. The preliminary notification has not specified the EMD or Performance Bank Guarantee requirements. Bidders have been advised to refer to the detailed EOI documents for financial and technical conditions. Conditional bids will be rejected, and the department reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal.
