The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released the ninth revision of the Approved List of Models & Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II for solar photovoltaic (PV) cells. Issued by the Grid Solar Power Division on August 21, 2026, the latest update includes new model approvals, revised technical specifications, and manufacturing capacity details for several major domestic solar cell manufacturers.
The ALMM List-II framework was originally issued on July 31, 2025, and has been updated periodically to reflect changes in India’s domestic solar manufacturing sector. The list is aimed at ensuring that solar PV cells used in government-supported projects meet prescribed quality, efficiency, and performance requirements.
TP Solar Ltd., based in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, continues to have an enlisted annual manufacturing capacity of 4,480 MW. Its listed products include Mono Crystalline PERC and TOPCon Bifacial cells, with minimum cell efficiency specifications updated to 20.50% and wattage ranges extending down to 6.55 W.
ReNewsys India Pvt. Ltd., located in Ranga Reddy, Telangana, has an enlisted annual capacity of 452 MW for Bifacial N-Type TOPCon cells. The revised models have efficiencies ranging from 20.50% to 25.60%. Premier Energies Photovoltaic Pvt. Ltd., also based in Ranga Reddy, has an enlisted capacity of 1,358 MW for Bifacial N-Type TOPCon cells, with efficiencies between 22.50% and 26.00%.
Reliance Industries Ltd., Jamnagar, Gujarat, is listed with 1,238 MW of manufacturing capacity for Heterojunction Technology (HJT) solar cells. Its listed models offer efficiencies of up to 26.00% and wattage of up to 5.74 W.
Waaree Energies Ltd. has received model approvals for Mono Crystalline TOPCon N-Type cells in the G12R format. The newly listed models have an enlisted capacity of 4,021 MW and an average efficiency of 25.39%, with the approval valid until December 2029. The company also retains its previously listed 1,328 MW Mono-PERC capacity.
EMMVEE Energy Pvt. Ltd. has added Bifacial Mono-c-Si TOPCon cell models with an enlisted capacity of 2,153 MW. These cells have an average efficiency of 25.60%.
Avaada Electro Ltd. has expanded its listed manufacturing capacity and product range, securing 3,621 MW for N-Type TOPCon half-cut and full-cell configurations. The listed cells offer maximum efficiencies of up to 26.30%, with enlistment validity extending until July 2030.
The latest revision highlights the growing shift in India’s solar manufacturing industry toward higher-efficiency N-Type TOPCon and HJT technologies. While Mono-PERC remains part of the approved list, newer technologies are gaining greater representation due to their improved efficiency and performance.
Most of the newly listed models also feature Potential Induced Degradation (PID)-free claims and use formats such as M10, M10R, G12 and G12R. The approvals, generally valid for three to four years, provide manufacturers with a defined regulatory framework while supporting India’s efforts to expand domestic solar cell production and strengthen the supply chain for government-backed solar projects.
