JinkoSolar Advances Solar Generation and Energy Storage with High-Power TOPCon Modules and SunTera G3 BESS  

As the renewable energy sector moves toward higher-efficiency generation and greater grid flexibility, solar PV and battery energy storage are increasingly being deployed as complementary technologies. JinkoSolar’s portfolio includes solutions across both areas, including the JKM650-670N-66QL6-BDV-F3 bifacial solar module and the SunTera G3 6.25 MWh energy storage system.

While the two products serve different functions, they address two important requirements of modern renewable energy projects: generating solar power efficiently and storing electricity for flexible use.

JKM650-670N-66QL6-BDV-F3: High-Power Bifacial Solar Module  

The JKM650-670N-66QL6-BDV-F3 is a bifacial solar module based on JinkoSolar’s enhanced N-type TOPCon technology platform. It is available in power classes from 650 W to 670 W and features an 85±5% bifaciality coefficient, enabling the module to capture solar radiation from both its front and rear sides.

The module incorporates an optimized layout designed to improve sunlight capture, while its enhanced cell structure supports performance under low-light conditions. Advanced metallization and module encapsulation technologies are designed to improve resistance against PID, LID/LeTID and UV degradation.

For utility-scale solar projects, mechanical durability is also important. The module is certified for a maximum static load of 5,400 Pa on the front side and 2,400 Pa on the rear side.

The module measures 2,382 × 1,134 × 30 mm and weighs approximately 32.5 kg. It uses 2.0 mm anti-reflective coated front glass and 2.0 mm heat-strengthened rear glass, together with an anodized aluminium alloy frame and an IP68-rated junction box.

Across its 650–670 W power range, the module’s specified efficiency increases from 24.06% to 24.80%. The datasheet also specifies a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year linear power warranty, with annual degradation of 0.35% after the first year.

SunTera G3: 6.25 MWh Liquid-Cooled Energy Storage System  

On the energy storage side, Jinko’s SunTera G3 is a 6.25 MWh energy storage system designed for grid-scale applications. The system uses high-capacity 588 Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells and a liquid-cooling architecture in a standardized 20-foot container configuration.

The system incorporates a rack-level energy management scheme intended to increase round-trip efficiency by more than 1%. Active balancing technology is also designed to increase available charge/discharge capacity by 5%. The system supports back-to-back and side-by-side placement configurations, providing flexibility for different site layouts.

Thermal management is a central feature of the SunTera G3. Its serpentine multi-parallel flow-channel design maintains a cell temperature difference of less than 2.5°C, while multiple cooling control modes are designed to optimize thermal management and reduce auxiliary power consumption.

The system also incorporates a multi-level safety architecture extending from the cell to the system level. Its protection features include temperature and smoke detection, combustible gas detection, deflagration venting, aerosol protection and a water sprinkler system.

According to the datasheet, the SunTera G3 has a 6.25 MWh rated capacity, 1,331.2 V rated voltage, and a 1P416S × 8 system configuration. It uses liquid cooling and is specified for operation between -40°C and 55°C.

Complementary Solutions for Solar-Plus-Storage  

Although the JKM650-670N-66QL6-BDV-F3 and SunTera G3 are separate products, they can address complementary requirements within solar-plus-storage projects.

The bifacial TOPCon module is designed to maximize electricity generation from available solar irradiation, while the SunTera G3 provides storage capacity that can help shift energy availability and support grid operations.

Jinko identifies solar-storage integration as one of the SunTera G3’s applications, alongside grid support services such as frequency regulation, voltage support and peak shaving. The system can also support energy-market participation through applications including energy arbitrage, capacity markets and ancillary services.

This combination creates a complementary technology pathway: PV modules generate renewable electricity, while BESS technology provides the flexibility to store and deploy that electricity according to system requirements.

Supporting the Next Stage of Renewable Energy Deployment  

The evolution of solar projects is increasingly focused not only on increasing generation efficiency but also on improving how renewable electricity is managed after it is generated.

JinkoSolar’s high-power bifacial TOPCon module and SunTera G3 energy storage system address these two areas independently while offering complementary capabilities for solar-plus-storage applications. The PV module focuses on high-output solar generation, while the BESS combines large-scale storage capacity, liquid cooling, energy management and multi-level safety features.

Together, they demonstrate how advanced solar generation and energy storage technologies can form complementary building blocks for renewable energy projects seeking greater generation performance, energy flexibility and grid-support capabilities.
