Juniper Green Energy Limited reported its highest-ever quarterly total income of INR 324 crore for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q1 FY27), representing a 79% year-on-year increase from INR 181 crore in Q1 FY26.
EBITDA increased 86% YoY to INR 294 crore, compared with INR 159 crore a year earlier, while the EBITDA margin expanded by 300 basis points to 91%. Profit after tax (PAT) rose 54% YoY to INR 33 crore, while Cash PAT increased 50% to INR 108 crore.
The company attributed the growth to an increase in its operational renewable energy capacity during the quarter and operating leverage from the scaling of its commissioned portfolio.
601 MWp Renewable Capacity Commissioned
Juniper Green Energy commissioned a record 601 MWp of renewable energy capacity during Q1 FY27, comprising 458 MWp of solar and 143 MW of wind capacity.
The company’s operational renewable energy capacity stood at 2,409 MWp as of June 30, 2026. A further 167 MW of wind capacity commissioned after the quarter-end increased its operational capacity to 2,575 MWp as of August 27, 2026.
Renewable energy generation increased 72% YoY to 944 million units during the quarter, while the company’s capacity utilisation factor (CUF) improved to 30.2% from 28.2% in Q1 FY26.
The weighted average CUF stood at 49.9% for wind projects and 27.9% for solar projects during the quarter.
BESS Capacity Expands
The company commissioned approximately 400 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity during Q1 FY27, taking its cumulative operational BESS capacity to 503 MWh.
Juniper Green Energy has also placed orders for approximately 4,000 MWh of additional BESS capacity, supporting its strategy to expand its renewable energy and storage portfolio.
New Renewable Energy Awards and PPA
Following the end of the quarter, Juniper Green Energy signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with SJVN Limited on August 26, 2026, for a 50 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project at a tariff of INR 4.25 per kWh.
The company also secured two additional tenders after June 30, 2026. These include an SECI FDRE Round-the-Clock (Thermal Mimic) tender involving 230 MW of contracted capacity, supported by 870 MWp of renewable capacity and 2,200 MWh of BESS at a tariff of INR 5.26 per kWh.
In addition, the company won a 50 MW GUVNL wind project at a tariff of INR 3.51 per kWh.
Juniper Green Energy also said it commissioned India’s first FDRE project under the SJVN FDRE tender.
Portfolio Reaches 11,216 MWp
The company’s total renewable energy portfolio stood at 11,216 MWp, complemented by 8,989 MWh of BESS capacity.
Approximately 98% of the portfolio is backed by offtakers rated A or above, while 98% is secured through long-term PPAs, typically with 25-year tenures.
The company has secured, been granted or applied for grid connectivity for its full portfolio. It also has more than 4,500 MW of surplus connectivity available for future bids and connectivity to support the installation of more than 20,000 MWh of BESS.
Financing and Balance Sheet
Juniper Green Energy incurred INR 1,183 crore of capital expenditure during Q1 FY27, taking cumulative capex to INR 16,303 crore as of June 30, 2026.
Net debt stood at INR 11,217 crore, including INR 7,183 crore attributable to the operational portfolio. The company refinanced more than INR 1,700 crore across three projects during the current fiscal year at a weighted average interest rate of below 8% per annum.
The weighted average cost of debt for the operational portfolio stood at 8.58% per annum. As of June 30, 2026, net worth was INR 3,463 crore and net debt-to-equity stood at 3.24 times.
In August 2026, Juniper Green Energy raised INR 1,800 crore in primary capital through its initial public offering (IPO), taking its post-IPO net worth to approximately INR 5,200 crore.
