The project is expected to generate around 166 million units (MUs) of green energy annually and offset approximately 118,856 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. The project comprises 171,360 solar modules manufactured by TP Solar Limited, supporting Tata Steel’s ongoing decarbonization efforts.

With the commissioning of the project, TPREL’s total renewable utility capacity has increased to 12.3 GW. Of this, around 7 GW is operational, comprising approximately 5.7 GW of solar and 1.3 GW of wind capacity. Another 5.3 GW is currently under various stages of implementation, including 2.2 GW of solar and 3.1 GW of wind projects, which are expected to be commissioned in phases over the next 6–24 months.

The project strengthens TPREL’s presence in the captive renewable energy segment and highlights the company’s focus on developing large-scale clean energy assets for industrial customers. TPREL serves sectors including steel, automobiles, petrochemicals, data centres, communications, IT, FMCG and biotechnology, among others.
