Trinasolar has supplied 200 Vertex S+ 500W (NEG18R.28) solar modules for a new 100 kW rooftop solar system at the National Wine Centre of Australia in Adelaide, South Australia.
Located adjacent to the Adelaide Botanic Garden, the National Wine Centre required a commercial solar installation that could accommodate two buildings with multi-angled roof structures while allowing the venue to remain fully operational during construction.
The project was delivered by Venergy Solar, which designed the system around the existing roof geometry. The solar arrays were positioned to remain largely concealed from key public viewing areas, helping integrate the installation without significantly affecting the visual character of the landmark.
The installation was carried out in stages to enable the National Wine Centre to continue hosting weddings, conferences, tourism activities and other events throughout the project.
Trinasolar’s Vertex S+ modules were selected for their 500W output and medium-format, lightweight design, allowing the available rooftop space to be utilised effectively. The modules use n-type i-TOPCon cell technology, which is designed to support high efficiency, low degradation and sustained energy generation over the system’s operating life.
According to Trinasolar, the project highlights the considerations involved in deploying commercial solar systems at prominent buildings where rooftop availability, structural characteristics and visual impact need to be addressed alongside energy performance.
Matthew Wilkins, Founder and CEO of Venergy Solar, said the project involved multiple site-specific engineering solutions due to the roof geometry and visibility of the location. He added that the Vertex S+ modules provided the required power output and format for the installation.
Simon Burgess, General Manager of the National Wine Centre, said the solar investment forms part of the venue’s broader focus on sustainability, operational efficiency and responsible asset management.
The rooftop solar project adds renewable energy generation to the National Wine Centre while supporting its efforts to reduce its environmental impact at its Adelaide location.
