WattPower, a solar inverter and energy storage solutions provider, has introduced its 506KTL Grid-Forming Utility-Scale Inverter, designed to support EPCs and renewable energy developers in developing grid-ready solar projects.
The new inverter is aimed at addressing the growing requirements of utility-scale solar projects as renewable energy penetration increases and grid codes become more stringent. Its Grid-Forming architecture is designed to improve grid compliance, enhance system stability and support reliable plant performance, including in weak-grid conditions.
The 506KTL Smart String Inverter operates at 1000V AC and is designed to reduce the number of inverters required for utility-scale projects, potentially lowering balance-of-system costs. WattPower said the solution is also intended to improve plant availability, reduce solar curtailment and support lower lifetime operating costs.
The inverter incorporates several technologies focused on operational efficiency and reliability. These include AI-enabled monitoring and plant optimisation, a hybrid cooling system for thermal management, an Anti-Icing Fan for operation across different climatic conditions, and SSLD2 protection technology aimed at improving equipment safety and resilience.
Commenting on the launch, Divya Prakash Choraria, CEO and Co-founder of WattPower, said the 506KTL was developed with a focus on product life, reliability, performance and asset optimisation.
The WattPower 506KTL Grid-Forming Utility-Scale Inverter is currently available for pre-orders. The company said the product forms part of its expanding portfolio of utility-scale solutions aimed at supporting reliable and high-performance renewable energy projects.
