The Water Resources Department, Government of Maharashtra, has invited an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the development of an 85 MW Floating Solar Photovoltaic (FSPV) project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Mukane Reservoir in Igatpuri Taluka, Nashik District.
The EOI has been issued by the Executive Engineer, Nashik Irrigation Division, under the Godavari Marathwada Irrigation Development Corporation (GMIDC), through E-Tender Notice No. 11 for 2026–2027. The project will be developed, operated, maintained, and managed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis.
The initiative is aimed at utilizing the water surface of Mukane Reservoir for renewable energy generation while reducing the requirement for land for solar project development. The integration of BESS is expected to support energy storage and improve the overall utilization of electricity generated from the floating solar installation.
The department has invited participation from experienced infrastructure developers, renewable energy companies, BESS developers, investors, EPC contractors, and eligible consortiums with the required technical and financial capabilities to undertake the project.
The tender document will be available from September 8, 2026, to September 28, 2026. The EOI is scheduled to be opened on September 29, 2026. Interested applicants are required to pay a non-refundable tender document fee of ₹11,800, inclusive of GST.
The current EOI notice does not specify the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) or Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) amounts. These requirements are expected to be detailed in the subsequent tender conditions or bidding documents.
Prospective bidders can access the tender documents through the Maharashtra Government’s designated e-tendering platform. They may also contact the Office of the Executive Engineer, Nashik Irrigation Division, Sinchan Bhavan, Trimbak Road, Nashik, for further information regarding the project and bidding process.
