LONGi and Enexus Sign Landmark 50 MWh Battery Storage Deal in Romania

Global solar technology supplier LONGi and Romanian developer Enexus have signed an agreement to supply 50 MWh of liquid-cooled Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for two hybrid projects in Titu, Dâmbovița County.

The transaction marks Enexus’s initial procurement of LONGi’s BESS hardware and represents one of LONGi’s largest utility-scale storage contracts in Romania and Europe. The deal builds on an existing relationship that has seen Enexus deploy more than 200 MW of LONGi solar PV modules across its portfolio since 2025.

The equipment will be distributed across two distinct solar-plus-storage sites designed for capacity firming, energy shifting, and ancillary grid support:

  • Titu 1: A completed 20 MWp solar park paired with a 15 MW BESS, co-developed with Akış Enerji (a subsidiary of Ulusoy Enerji Yatırımları A.Ş.). The asset is currently awaiting final grid connection.
  • Titu 3: A 35 MW PV plant paired with a 35 MW BESS, currently under active development for FTZ Group.

The total 50 MWh installation will utilize 10 units of LONGi’s liquid-cooled utility-scale BESS paired with factory-integrated medium-voltage (MV) skid systems to streamline balance-of-plant costs and field commissioning.

“The next phase of the global energy transition demands a total departure from fragmented, multi-vendor systems,” said Dennis She, Vice President of LONGi and President of LONGi Energy Storage. “By combining our generation technology with fully integrated BESS architectures, we offer one coordinated, grid-ready ecosystem.”

Romania’s updated National Energy and Climate Plan targets roughly 5.8 GW of utility-scale solar and 2.5 GW of rooftop solar by 2030, increasing regional demand for battery storage to manage solar intermittency and support grid stability.

“Integrating BESS in PV project design is a strategic direction we outlined since last year,” said Mesut Güler, Founder and CEO of Enexus. “LONGi entrusting us with one of its largest BESS projects in Romania so far is a clear signal of the trust and technical alignment behind this partnership.”
