Trinasolar has supplied 35,350 Vertex N 705W and 710W modules for PetroGreen Energy Corporation’s 25 MWp Bugallon Solar Power Plant in Pangasinan, Philippines.
The project was developed and is operated by Bugallon Green Energy Corporation, a project company under Rizal Green Energy Corporation, a joint venture between PetroGreen and Japan’s Taisei Corporation.
The Bugallon Solar Power Plant recently received its Certificate of Compliance from the Philippines’ Energy Regulatory Commission and commenced commercial operations in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) on September 5, 2026.
Developed under the Green Energy Auction Program Round 2, the project is expected to generate approximately 51 GWh of electricity annually and offset around 36,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
For the project, Trinasolar supplied its n-type i-TOPCon Vertex N 705W and 710W bifacial dual-glass modules. The modules feature a power temperature coefficient of −0.29% per degree Celsius and are designed to withstand high-temperature and high-humidity conditions, supporting their deployment in the Philippines’ tropical climate.
The Bugallon project continues the partnership between Trinasolar and PetroGreen, which began in 2015. Their previous utility-scale solar projects include the 20 MWp Tarlac-2 project, 27 MWp Dagohoy project in Bohol, and 40 MWp Limbauan project in Isabela.
Maria Victoria M. Olivar, Senior Vice President for Business Development and Commercial Operations at PetroGreen Energy Corporation, said the partnership has supported the company’s growing utility-scale solar portfolio through module technology, supply and project continuity.
Elva Wang, Group Director for Southeast Asia at Trinasolar, said the Bugallon project represents another step toward the Philippines’ target of achieving a 35% renewable energy share in its power-generation mix by 2030.
