Decade Energy has signed a Supply Framework Agreement with Sungrow for the supply of up to 200 MWh of battery energy storage equipment for projects across France.
The agreement is intended to support Decade Energy’s plans to scale the deployment of battery storage across its growing portfolio of projects in the country. It also establishes a framework for the company to move from developing individual battery storage projects toward a more standardized, repeatable delivery model.
Under the agreement, core supply terms will be established in advance, allowing Decade Energy to streamline procurement and reduce project-level complexity. The company said this will enable its teams to focus on site-specific engineering, grid connection and construction requirements across individual projects.
Baptiste Perlin, VP of Infrastructure at Decade Energy, said the company’s framework with Sungrow is aimed at building the partnerships and systems required to deploy battery storage at greater speed and scale as France’s electrification progresses.
Battery energy storage is gaining importance as power systems integrate increasing levels of renewable generation while electricity demand rises across the transport, buildings and industrial sectors. The agreement is expected to strengthen Decade Energy’s supply chain and delivery capabilities as it expands its project pipeline.
Weiyi (Eric) Da, ESS Manager at Sungrow Europe, said the agreement combines Decade Energy’s project pipeline with Sungrow’s energy storage technology and local service capabilities to support the delivery of scalable battery storage projects in France.
Sungrow has installed more than 1,000 GW of power electronic converters globally and operates more than 520 service outlets worldwide.
The framework agreement forms part of Decade Energy’s broader strategy to establish technology partnerships, infrastructure and delivery capabilities for the faster deployment of battery storage projects in France.
