NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced the commercial operation of 81.34 MW of its Kalasar Solar Energy Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The newly commissioned capacity became commercially operational from midnight on September 26, 2026.
The 81.34 MW capacity forms part of the larger 650 MW solar component being developed under the 500 MW REMCL Round-The-Clock (RTC) Project. The project is being implemented by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited.
The commissioning marks another addition to NGEL’s growing renewable energy portfolio in Rajasthan. The Kalasar Solar Energy Project is part of the company’s efforts to expand large-scale renewable power generation and support the development of round-the-clock clean energy capacity.
Following the commercial operation of the 81.34 MW capacity, the total commercial operational capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited group has increased to 10,977.23 MW. The group’s overall installed capacity, including the newly commissioned capacity, has reached 11,058.57 MW.
NGEL disclosed the development to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE Limited through regulatory filings under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The company’s filing was issued by Deepak C S, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of NTPC Green Energy Limited.
The commissioning of the Rajasthan solar capacity adds to NTPC Green Energy’s expanding renewable energy portfolio and strengthens its presence in utility-scale solar projects. The development also contributes to the broader deployment of renewable capacity linked with round-the-clock power supply requirements.
With further capacity under development, NGEL is continuing to expand its renewable energy portfolio across India. The company is pursuing solar and other clean-energy projects as part of its broader renewable energy expansion strategy.
