The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has issued a Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) for the development of 11,159 kW, or about 11.16 MW, of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic projects across various client organizations and institutions.
The tender has been issued under RTSPV-Tranche-XIV and seeks to expand rooftop solar installations across institutional and organizational sites. According to the announcement released on September 25, 2026, SECI will select Solar Power Developers through a tariff-based competitive bidding process.
The projects will be implemented under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model. Under this arrangement, the selected developers will be responsible for making the required investment, installing the rooftop solar systems, and operating and maintaining the projects. The participating client organizations and institutes will use the electricity generated by the solar installations.
The total capacity of 11,159 kW will be distributed across five separate projects located at different institutional and organizational sites. The tender is expected to provide opportunities for solar developers with experience in rooftop photovoltaic project development and operations.
SECI will use a single-stage, two-envelope bidding process to select the developers. Under this process, bidders will be evaluated based on the requirements and conditions specified in the Request for Selection (RfS) document.
The detailed RfS document, including technical requirements, eligibility conditions, qualification criteria, commercial provisions, and timelines for bid submission, will be uploaded separately. Prospective bidders will be able to access the tender-related documents through SECI’s official website and the Electronic Tender portal.
SECI has advised interested bidders to regularly monitor both platforms for the release of the RfS document and for any subsequent clarifications, amendments, or other updates concerning the tender. The agency has stated that separate individual notifications will not be issued to prospective bidders.
The rooftop solar tender is part of SECI’s broader efforts to support the deployment of renewable energy projects across different sectors. Rooftop solar systems can enable institutions and organizations to generate electricity closer to the point of consumption, potentially reducing dependence on conventional grid power.
SECI operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. Through initiatives such as RTSPV tenders, the agency is supporting the expansion of distributed solar generation and the wider adoption of renewable energy infrastructure across the country.
