Green Energy Stocks Rally as Sensex Gains 0.95% and Nifty Climbs 0.72% (06 October 2026)

Indian equity markets traded higher on October 6, 2026, with benchmark indices recording steady gains and supporting positive sentiment across the green energy, renewable infrastructure, and clean mobility sectors. The S&P BSE SENSEX rose 0.95% to 73,067.81 points, while the NIFTY 50 advanced 0.72% to 22,717.70 points.

Renewable energy and clean technology stocks witnessed broad-based buying interest during the session. Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy emerged among the major gainers, rising 5.2% on the BSE to ₹172.35 and 5.67% on the NSE to ₹173.00. Praj Industries, which operates in bio-energy and biofuel technology, gained 3.61% on the BSE to ₹314.55 and 3.35% on the NSE to ₹314.25. Juniper Green Energy also recorded strong buying interest, gaining 3.46% on the BSE to ₹280.70.

Large companies with significant exposure to energy and infrastructure also contributed to the positive market trend. Reliance Industries gained 2.77% on the BSE to ₹1,219.00 and 2.49% on the NSE to ₹1,216.00. Adani Green Energy advanced 2.41% on the BSE to ₹1,310.65 and 2.31% on the NSE to ₹1,313.70. Larsen & Toubro rose 0.88% on the BSE to ₹3,773.00 and 0.43% on the NSE to ₹3,766.00. GAIL India also increased 2.39% on the BSE to ₹171.50.

Solar equipment manufacturers posted mixed but largely positive performance. Websol Energy Systems gained more than 3%, reaching ₹70.18 on the BSE and ₹70.55 on the NSE. Borosil Renewables increased 2.20% on the BSE to ₹452.15.

Electric mobility and battery-related companies also recorded modest gains. Olectra Greentech rose 2.36% to ₹1,104.00, while Amara Raja Energy & Mobility gained 0.45% to ₹744.65. Exide Industries edged up 0.11% to ₹405.65.

However, some stocks remained under pressure. Kabra Extrusion declined 0.22% on the BSE to ₹797.00, while EKI Energy Services fell around 4.9%. Tata Power remained largely flat, rising 0.09% on the BSE to ₹351.30 but declining 0.24% on the NSE to ₹350.65. Overall, the session reflected strong investor interest in renewable energy leaders amid a firm broader market.
