Smartgrid Analytics Pvt Ltd (SGA) has surpassed 107 GW of renewable energy assets commissioned globally, expanding its technology footprint across more than 500 solar, wind, battery energy storage, hybrid and green hydrogen projects.
The milestone comes as India’s installed renewable energy capacity has reached 288.58 GW, with SGA positioning its software and automation technologies across both domestic and international clean energy markets.
During FY2025-26, the Bengaluru-based company commissioned or delivered approximately 12.4 GW of new-build capacity. Battery storage and hybrid projects accounted for nearly 50% of company revenue, compared with almost no contribution a year earlier, reflecting a shift in its business from conventional plant automation towards real-time energy management and decision-making.
Kumar M, Founder and CEO of Smartgrid Analytics, said the 107 GW milestone reflected growing confidence among global clean energy companies in SGA’s technology. He added that storage-focused solutions, which were largely at the patent and product-development stage two years ago, now represent nearly half of the company’s business.
Battery Storage and Hybrid Portfolio Expands in India
SGA’s recent domestic deployments include two grid-scale battery energy storage projects for an Indian independent power producer, comprising 300 MW/1,400 MWh and 300 MW/600 MWh systems.
The company has also worked on five distributed storage sites, including a 22 MW/44 MWh BESS for a metropolitan distribution utility.
Its hybrid renewable portfolio in India includes a 405 MW project with 135 MW of co-located storage, a 435 MW project in Andhra Pradesh, a 600 MW master power plant controller project in Madhya Pradesh, and a 250 MW project for a utility-scale renewable energy developer.
SGA Expands Renewable Technology Footprint Across Global Markets
Internationally, SGA delivered 1,254 MW in the Middle East for a global EPC contractor and entered into a master services agreement with a power systems software company covering more than 10 sites.
The company’s major international projects include 1,500 MW in Abu Dhabi and 1,100 MW in Saudi Arabia, alongside deployments in Egypt, Azerbaijan, Oman and Algeria. SGA has also completed an 80 MW project in South Africa and a 20 MW project in Uganda.
In the United States, SGA supplied technology for a 75 MW battery storage project in California, providing grid-code compliance logic for both CAISO and Southern California Edison. The project was commissioned in July 2025 and continues to receive operational support from Bengaluru.
Exports accounted for 24.5% of SGA’s revenue, while projects delivered without hardware represented 20.6%, indicating the company’s increasing focus on software-led energy solutions.
AI Platform Supports 9 GWh of Battery Storage
SGA’s AI-driven platform, Solvyn, currently supports automated control and market participation across more than 21 grid codes and 9 GWh of battery energy storage capacity.
The company is also expanding into demand-side energy management for data centres in India and the United States, targeting growing power and grid-capacity constraints associated with the sector.
SGA earlier raised $3.3 million from strategic investors and clean energy industry veterans. The company has also filed 21 patents, including two in the United States, covering technologies such as digital-twin modelling, energy management system dispatch logic and its AURA intelligence framework.
The growing contribution from battery storage, hybrid projects and software-led services reflects SGA’s broader transition from renewable plant automation toward integrated energy management and grid intelligence.
