NLC India Limited, a Navratna public sector enterprise owned by the Government of India, has successfully issued and allotted commercial papers worth ₹1,000 crore. The company disclosed the development to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and BSE Limited through a regulatory filing, in accordance with applicable securities market regulations.
According to the disclosure, the allotment was completed on October 12, 2026. The transaction comprises 20,000 commercial papers, each carrying a face value of ₹5 lakh. Together, these instruments represent a total value of ₹1,000 crore, marking a significant short-term financial transaction by the state-owned enterprise.
The regulatory filing was signed by Sushanta Kumar Panda, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of NLC India Limited. The company communicated the details of the allotment to both stock exchanges to maintain transparency and fulfil its disclosure obligations under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) regulations.
Commercial papers are short-term, unsecured money market instruments generally issued by eligible companies to meet their short-term funding requirements. Such instruments can help businesses manage working capital needs, support liquidity management and diversify their sources of short-term financing. The terms and conditions of individual issuances depend on the applicable regulatory framework and the issuer’s arrangements with investors.
NLC India Limited, headquartered in Tamil Nadu and maintaining its registered office in Chennai, operates as a government-owned enterprise with interests in the energy sector. The company continues to disclose relevant financial and corporate developments through official stock exchange communications.
The latest allotment reflects NLC India’s use of commercial paper as a financial instrument. The disclosure was made in compliance with the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, which establish reporting and transparency requirements for listed entities.
