Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has announced an investment of ₹10 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited (SESL), towards the establishment of a 2.20 GW greenfield high-efficiency solar Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) cell and solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh.
According to a regulatory filing submitted to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited on October 12, 2026, the investment has been made through cash consideration by subscribing to equity shares of Shakti Energy Solutions Limited. The proposed manufacturing facility will expand the subsidiary’s operations into solar cell and module production, strengthening its presence in India’s renewable energy manufacturing sector.
The company stated that the investment is intended to support the establishment of the greenfield manufacturing plant, which will have a production capacity of 2.20 GW. The facility will focus on manufacturing high-efficiency solar DCR cells and solar PV modules, marking an expansion of the subsidiary’s existing activities in solar structures and rooftop solar solutions.
Shakti Energy Solutions Limited, incorporated on September 6, 2010, is an existing wholly owned subsidiary of Shakti Pumps (India) Limited. The company has reported steady growth in turnover over the past three financial years, reaching ₹239.11 crore in FY2026, compared with ₹216.53 crore in FY2025 and ₹139.59 crore in FY2024.
As outlined in the regulatory disclosure, the ₹10 crore investment has been made through equity subscription, with shares to be issued in accordance with the applicable arrangement. Shakti Pumps clarified that the transaction does not fall under related-party transaction requirements, as the investment is being made in its wholly owned subsidiary.
The company further stated that no government or regulatory approvals are required for the disclosed investment. The transaction was reported under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The proposed manufacturing facility represents a strategic expansion of Shakti Pumps’ solar business, extending its manufacturing activities beyond solar structures and rooftop systems into solar cell and module production. The development could support greater domestic manufacturing capabilities and strengthen the company’s participation in India’s expanding solar energy supply chain.
While the company has confirmed the ₹10 crore investment and proposed 2.20 GW manufacturing capacity, it has not disclosed the overall project cost, construction timeline or expected commissioning date for the facility.
The investment highlights Shakti Pumps’ continued focus on expanding its renewable energy manufacturing operations through its subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited, as India advances its domestic solar manufacturing capabilities.
