The projects, located in Borken and Raesfeld, will feature Vestas’ V172-7.2 MW and V162-5.6 MW turbine models, supporting the continued expansion of Germany’s onshore wind energy capacity.

The first order covers the 42 MW Borken Kierit wind project, developed by Windenergie Kierit GmbH & Co. KG in association with BBWind Projektberatungsgesellschaft mbH. Vestas will supply five V172-7.2 MW turbines and one V162-5.6 MW turbine for the project. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, with commissioning expected to commence in the second quarter of 2028. The agreement includes a 20-year AOM 5000 service contract to support long-term turbine performance and operational reliability.

The second agreement involves the 29 MW Raesfeld Lanzenhagen wind project, developed by Windenergie Lanzenhagen GmbH & Co. KG in collaboration with BBWind. The project will feature four V172-7.2 MW wind turbines, with deliveries planned to begin in the first quarter of 2028 and commissioning scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2028. The contract also includes a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement.

The third order covers the 22 MW Borken Deepschlatt wind project, developed by Windenergie Deepschlatt GmbH & Co. KG alongside BBWind. Vestas will deliver three V172-7.2 MW wind turbines, with deliveries expected to begin in the first quarter of 2028 and commissioning scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2028. The project will also benefit from a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement.

Across the three projects, Vestas will supply 12 V172-7.2 MW turbines and one V162-5.6 MW turbine, representing a combined turbine capacity of approximately 92 MW. The long-term service agreements are designed to support operational efficiency, turbine availability, and reliable electricity generation throughout the projects’ operating lives.

The latest orders highlight continued investment in Germany’s onshore wind sector and reinforce Vestas’ collaboration with BBWind in developing renewable energy infrastructure.

The projects are expected to contribute to Germany’s renewable energy expansion by increasing wind power generation capacity, strengthening domestic clean electricity supply, and supporting the country’s broader energy transition and decarbonisation objectives.
