NTPC REL Invites Bids For 1,200 MW Solar EPC Projects In Andhra Pradesh

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has invited online bids for the development of up to 1,200 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Andhra Pradesh. The tender has been issued under domestic competitive bidding and covers an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) package along with land acquisition. The projects will be developed near the existing Anantapur Solar Project in the state.

The proposed capacity of 1,200 MW has been divided into two blocks. Block-I will have a capacity of 900 MW, while Block-II will account for the remaining 300 MW. Interested bidders can submit proposals for individual blocks or the combined capacity, subject to the tender conditions.

The selected contractor will be responsible for delivering the projects on a comprehensive EPC basis. The scope includes identifying, acquiring and transferring ownership or lease rights for suitable land required for the development. The land must be free from encumbrances and include the area required for the proposed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

In addition to land arrangements, the contractor will undertake the complete design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the solar PV plants. The work will also include the development of power evacuation infrastructure required to connect the projects to the NTPC REL Anantapur project pooling station (PSS) and the interstate transmission system substation.

The tender also includes operation and maintenance responsibilities for three years from the date of commissioning. The selected contractor will therefore be required to ensure the operational performance and maintenance of the installed solar facilities during the specified period.

NTPC REL has prescribed significant bid security requirements for participation in the tender. Bidders applying for the 900 MW Block-I will be required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹50 crore. For the 300 MW Block-II, the required bid security is ₹20 crore. Companies bidding for the combined 1,200 MW capacity must furnish an EMD of ₹100 crore.

The tender document states that bids submitted without acceptable bid security will be considered non-responsive and rejected. The requirement is intended to ensure compliance with the bidding conditions and demonstrate the financial commitment of participating companies.

NTPC REL issued the Invitation for Bids (IFB) on October 29, 2026. Bidding documents will be available for download until November 11, 2026, at 17:00 hours IST. The pre-bid conference and the last date for submitting queries have been scheduled for November 13, 2026, at 11:00 hours IST.

The deadline for submitting techno-commercial and price bids is November 27, 2026, at 15:00 hours IST. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 15:30 hours IST. The date and schedule for opening price bids and conducting the reverse auction will be communicated separately.

Prospective bidders must register on the ISN Electronic Tender Services (ETS) portal and use tender search code NTPCREL-2026-TN000035. Submission of a duly signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is also mandatory for downloading the official bidding documents.

Through this tender, NTPC REL is seeking to expand solar power development in Andhra Pradesh by adding up to 1,200 MW of grid-connected renewable energy capacity, supported by dedicated power evacuation infrastructure and provisions for battery energy storage.
