Avaada Electro Secures 7.117 GW ALMM Enlistment For ToPCon Solar Cell Manufacturing

Avaada Electro Limited, the solar manufacturing arm of Avaada Group, has achieved a major milestone with 7,117 MW (7.117 GW) of N-type TOPCon solar cell manufacturing capacity enlisted under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) 13th revision of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II, dated October 28, 2026. The development marks a significant step in the company’s efforts to expand India’s domestic solar manufacturing capabilities and strengthen the country’s clean energy supply chain.

The enlisted manufacturing capacity is based at Avaada Electro’s facility in Butibori, Maharashtra. The company stated that the milestone would support its ambition to establish a globally competitive solar manufacturing business while contributing to India’s growing advanced solar technology ecosystem.

A key feature of the enlistment is the facility’s G12 N-type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) solar cell technology. According to the company, its solar cells have a manufacturer-declared maximum efficiency of up to 26.8%, while the highest listed average cell efficiency stands at 25.89%. The G12 full-cell model has a declared maximum power output of 11.81 watts per cell.

The advanced TOPCon technology is designed to improve power generation from a given silicon cell area, supporting the development of higher-output solar modules. Improvements in cell conversion efficiency can also contribute to better utilisation of materials, manufacturing resources and installation infrastructure.

With an annual enlisted nameplate capacity of 7.117 GW, Avaada Electro aims to cater to India’s expanding solar industry, including solar module manufacturers, renewable energy developers and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies. However, actual production and saleable output will depend on factory utilisation, manufacturing yields and product mix.

The company highlighted that manufacturing competitiveness depends not only on installed capacity but also on production efficiency, product reliability, quality consistency and cost optimisation. Its manufacturing strategy focuses on three principles: First Time Right, Every Time Right and Everything Right, covering production quality, process discipline, operational performance and customer satisfaction.

Commenting on the development, Vineet Mittal, Chairman and Whole-time Director of Avaada Electro Limited, said that India’s clean energy future would depend not only on solar installations but also on its ability to develop technology and manufacture advanced products domestically. He described the 7.1 GW TOPCon enlistment as an important milestone in the company’s journey towards competing in the global solar manufacturing market.

Mittal added that manufacturing leadership requires continuous improvements in product quality, efficiency and operational performance rather than focusing solely on factory size. He emphasised the company’s ambition to make products in India that can compete internationally while delivering value to customers and supporting environmental objectives.

The milestone comes as India continues to strengthen its domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem and reduce dependence on imported components. Expanding advanced solar cell manufacturing capacity is expected to support supply-chain resilience, industrial development and employment generation. Through its investment in TOPCon technology and manufacturing infrastructure, Avaada Electro aims to contribute to India’s energy security and clean energy manufacturing ambitions while building a competitive position in the domestic and international solar markets
