On 29 October 2026, the Energy Regulator formally approved the publication of a consultation paper along with the draft amended rules to initiate the public consultation process. Interested stakeholders can access the consultation paper and draft amended rules through NERSA’s official website, http://www.nersa.org.za, under the Electricity consultation notices section. Written submissions must be sent by email to crr4itps@nersa.org.za. The deadline for submitting comments is 2 December 2026. NERSA has encouraged interested parties and members of the public to review the proposed amendments and provide their views within the specified consultation period.

For technical queries or additional information regarding the consultation, stakeholders can contact Mr. Mondli Shozi at 012 401 4600 or through email at Mondli.Shozi@nersa.org.za. Further assistance is also available at NERSA’s head office, located at Kulawula House, 526 Madiba Street, Arcadia, Pretoria.

In addition to written submissions, NERSA has arranged a virtual public hearing to provide stakeholders with an opportunity to present their views on the proposed amendments. The hearing is scheduled for 7 December 2026 and will take place through Microsoft Teams from 14:00 to 17:00.
