Waaree Solar Americas Doubles Texas Module Manufacturing Capacity to 3.2 GW

Two New 800 MW Production Lines Begin Operations as Waaree Targets 4.8 GW of US Module Capacity in FY27

Waaree Solar Americas Inc. (WSA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited (WEL), India’s largest integrated clean energy transition company, has begun commercial production from two new solar module manufacturing lines at its facility in Brookshire, Texas. Each line has an annual capacity of 800 MW. Together they add 1.6 GW and take the facility’s total annual installed capacity to 3.2 GW.

Brookshire is one part of a wider US build out. WSA is also upgrading its Arizona module facility from 1 GW to 1.6 GW, taking Waaree’s planned US module capacity to 4.8 GW in FY27. Across markets, the company’s module order book stands at over 25 GW.

ReNew

Production on the new lines started on October 29, 2026, under an expansion approved by the Waaree Energies Board in April 2025. The addition doubles Brookshire’s output and expands WSA’s ability to supply American developers, utilities and EPC partners with modules made in the US.

The milestone comes as US trade measures, including Section 232, reshaping the economics of imported solar modules. Waaree prepared for this shift by building manufacturing within the market it serves. Revenue from the company’s US manufacturing operations rose to ₹1,300 crore in Q2 FY27 from ₹732 crore a year earlier. The US domestic business now accounts for 43.8% of Waaree’s ₹59,200 crore order book, up from about 36% at the end of the previous quarter.

Sunil Rathi, Director, Waaree Group said, “Shifting trade policy has strengthened the case for local manufacturing, and that is exactly where we have invested. With Brookshire now at 3.2 GW and Arizona expanding, we are serving American customers from American factories, and our US order book continues to grow every quarter.”

The expansion supports Waaree’s dual-market manufacturing strategy: Make in India for the World and Make in USA for USA. The company continues to grow on both fronts. Consolidated revenue from operations rose 23.9% to ₹7,518 crore in Q2 FY27, and Waaree is deepening backward integration in India, with cell capacity set to rise from 5.4 GW to 15.4 GW in FY27 and a 10 GW ingot and wafer facility targeted for FY28.
