In December 2023, Axpo secured a purchase agreement with Semesteb, an Italian developer specializing in utility-scale solar systems, for the ‘ready-to-build’ solar plant. Spanning 16 hectares, the facility will feature nearly 34,500 solar panels and is expected to generate more than 25 GWh of clean energy annually, sufficient to power approximately 9,000 households.

The solar plant will be interconnected with the public grid, with electricity generated sold through a power purchase agreement (PPA), currently in search of a buyer.

As part of community engagement efforts, Axpo and Semesteb have committed to constructing a 500 kWp photovoltaic facility in Manzano. This initiative, known as ‘Comunità Energetica’, aims to provide energy to the local community under a collective self-consumption scheme, enhancing sustainability measures in the region.
