Funded by the Central Emergency Interventions Unit of the Ministry of Finance, these projects, totaling 66.8 million Yemeni riyals, were executed by the General Authority for Rural Water Projects. The initiatives involved the rehabilitation and installation of solar-powered systems into existing water infrastructure.

The implementation of these projects marks a significant milestone in providing clean drinking water to over 10,000 residents who have long struggled with limited access to this essential resource.

Majed al-Shami, Director of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects Branch, expressed the significance of utilizing solar energy for sustainable development, emphasizing its role in reducing dependency on already strained resources.

“These projects are crucial for improving the lives of Yemenis in rural communities,” stated al-Shami. “Given the ongoing conflict and its impact on water accessibility, these initiatives will bring much-needed relief to the people of al-Sabrah and al-Sayani.”
