India has seen a flurry of activity in terms of new tenders and policies favouring open market power transactions in the recent few months. Recently the central minister, Mr. R K Singh had stated “We are confident that we will grow & achieve our target of 175 GW renewable energy capacity by 2022.”

Earlier he had stated that India will surpass its set targets of 175GW saying “We expect to have installed 200,000 MW Renewable Energy capacity in India by 2022, which will be more than our target of installing 175,000 MW RE generation capacity by that time.”
