Coronavirus Update: SECI Cancels 32MW SCCL Solar PV Pre-Bid Meeting, Opts For Digitalization

SECI has issued a notice in concern with tender related queries for 32 MW (AC) grid-connected ground-based solar PV power project at SCCL, Telangana.

The notice stated that it’s evident that the global outbreak of Pandemic Novel Coronavirus, COVID 19 has significantly hampered the functioning of all sectors including institutions, commercial establishments, offices & various manufacturing units are also at standstill. Due to this reason, the pre-bid meeting scheduled for this tender could not be conducted on 02.04.2020.

Due to pandemic-situation of coronavirus(COVID 19), various government bodies are also Postponing Site Visits, Extending the Project Deadlines or going digital. Recently In a report, CRISIL said, Nearly 3 GW of solar projects, worth Rs 16,000 crore, could be at risk of penalties for missing their respective scheduled commercial operation date (SCOD) if the impact of Coronavirus on trade with China prolongs.

SECI has requested bidders to submit their tender related queries before 09.04.2020 by 1800 Hrs 

Recently MNRE has issued the circular on-time extension in the scheduled commissioning date of RE projects considering disruption of the supply chains due to the spread of coronavirus in China or any other country as a force majeure event. The letter states that the Renewable Energy implementing agencies may grant a suitable extension of time for projects, on account of coronavirus, based on evidence/documents produced by developers in support of their respective claims of such disruption of the supply chains due to spread of coronavirus.

On 25th March, SECI invited tender for 32 MW (AC) OB Dump based Solar PV Power Plant at different sites of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited(SCCL) in Telangana. The Total project capacity of 32 MW (ac) is divided into 02 different sites: Site – 1 consists of the 22MW project at Ramagundam and Site – 2 consists of a 10MW project at Dorli.

On 2nd April, SECI requested bidders to submit online queries  for 34 MW (AC) grid-connected ground-based solar PV power project at SCCL before 05.04.2020 by 1800 Hrs.

Recently, SECI also issued a notice of extension which states that the bid submission deadline of 14 MW solar power plants with 42 MWH BESS at Leh and Kargil under Prime Minister Development Package (PMDP) has been extended from 16.04.2020 to 01.06.2020.
