South Central Railway floated an e-tender for provision of 40 kWp On-grid, Ground-mounted Solar Power Project in premises of Tirupati Railway Station (TPTY). Bidding System Opt for this tender is a Single Packet System.

The opening date of bid submission is 19/05/2020 and the last date of bid submission is 02/06/2020 at 15:00 HRS.

Along with the bid, the bidders should submit earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs.61,000 and also document a fee of Rs.3000.The Period of Completion for this project is 90 Days and the Validity of Offer is for 90 Days.

Scope of work for the successful bidder is Supply, of material, installation, testing and commissioning of 40 KWp Grid-connected, Ground-mounted solar generating system with Annual maintenance contract for first 5 years as per Technical Specification & Explanatory Notes (**Includes GST @ 5% on 70% of base value and GST @ 18% on remaining 30% of base value). Bidders will also be required to Provide supporting accessories for solar plants such as web monitoring systems, surveillance cameras, etc.

To be eligible for this bid the bidders should have a minimum Valid B Grade Electrical License issued by Electrical Licensing Board of any state. 

The document states that “The Tenderers are advised to visit the site of work in their interest and acquaint themselves with the site conditions and expected quantum of work and assess all the site-specific difficulties to be experienced while executing the same and the rate shall be arrived duly considering all the facts above and quoted in the tender. Any representation at a later date specifying the site difficulties shall not be considered”.

Recently, RITES Limited, an engineering consultancy company under Indian railways has issued a tender for setting up of 1 GW of land-based solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants on land owned by the Indian Railways under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding.

The last date for bid submission is 29 June 2020 at 02:00 PM and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on 30 June 2020. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for 28 May 2020 at 11:00 AM. Bid Submission will start on 22 June 2020 at 09:00 AM and it will End on 29 June 2020 at 02:00 PM.

To participate along with the bids, All bidders will have to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs 10,00,000 and also should submit a Tender Fee of Rs.29,000.The Bid will be valid for 180 days and to complete the project The developers will have a Period Of 390 days. The location of this project is at various Zonal Railways across India.

In January, the Ministry of Railways announced that Indian Railways plans to procure 1,000 MW of solar power by 2021-22.To meet this solar power generation goal, 500 MW solar plants will be installed on the rooftop of Railway buildings to meet non-traction loads at Railway Stations, and remaining 500 MW land based solar plants will be used to meet both traction and non-traction requirements.Several measures aimed at energy conservation by harnessing renewable energy are implemented at South Central Railway zone, which includes installation of solar panels at stations and service buildings across the zone. Tapping into the natural energy sources, for the very first time all the stations in a particular section of the South Central Railway have been provided with solar panels at one stretch.
