NTPC Invites Vendors for Bulk Procurement of Solar Modules

National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), a central PSU under the Indian Ministry of Power is inviting all the prospective eligible domestic and international suppliers/manufacturers to enlist with NTPC for all the future procurements of Solar PV Module on Bulk Basis. It states that it intends to procure Solar Modules directly from the Global Market in the near future.

The Last date for bid submission is 23.07.2020. The pre-Bid meet has been scheduled on 28.07.2020. The last date for filing application for enlistment duly is 17.08.2020 at 15:00 Hrs and the Opening date and time for application is 18.08.2020 at 11:00 Hrs.

The tentative capacities which are planned for the procurement of Solar PV Modules for the development of its Solar PV Projects will be of approximately 1GW in the current financial year and subsequently, procurement of Solar PV Modules of approximately 2-2.5 GW Capacities per year is being planned for the subsequent years. 

The scope of work for successfull bidders will be Manufacturing, Supply, Packing, and Forwarding, Transportation of Crystalline Solar PV Modules for Bulk Procurement. This will be only for international Solar PV modules up to India Port of Delivery.

To be eligible the applicant must have successfully manufactured and supplied Solar PhotoVoltaic (SPV) Modules of the capacity of 200 MWp or above for a single project in the last three years.

The average annual turnover of the bidder must be INR 3200 Million during the preceding three (3) financial years.

Recently, National Thermal Power Corporation Limited declared the financial results for FY20 along with the unaudited financial results for Q4 FY20 on 27 June 2020. In FY20, NTPC has recorded the highest ever commercial capacity addition of 8260 MW which includes the acquisition of 2970 MW capacity of THDC and NEEPCO. The gross generation of NTPC Group for FY20 was 290.19 Billion units as against 305.90 Billion units during the previous year. Besides, the gross generation of THDC & NEEPCO was 10.91 Billion Units. On a Standalone basis, the gross generation of NTPC for FY20 was 259.62 Billion units as against 274.45 Billion units in the previous year. Coal stations achieved a Plant Load Factor of 68.20% as against the National Average of 55.89% with an availability factor of 89.67%.
