Enel Green Power Guatemala (“EGPG”), the renewable energy subsidiary of the Enel Group in the Central American country, has announced the launch of a trading company, part of its strategy for growth in the country’s market. The new company, which has been in business since last October, offers a portfolio of renewable energy generated by the country’s five hydroelectric power stations to large customers on the Guatemalan market.
The new EGPG company is making various commercial and technical services available to large electricity users on the wholesale market. The commercial services include a detailed monthly billing system, customized training programs and information on high-profile electric market events, while the technical services span 24/7 availability and consultancy on projects, monitoring and resolution of any incidents that may occur.
“We are constantly researching innovative solutions to allow us produce renewable, sustainable energy in the most efficient, sustainable way, and to make that energy more accessible to customers in Guatemala,” declared Bruno Riga, Manager of Enel Green Power Central America. “We are proud of being able to diversify our offer through our commercial services which allow us supply power directly to large customers,” he added.
EGPG’s trading company also represents its customers towards the Administrator of the country’s Wholesale Market, and, similarly, it can also meet demand from the Regional Electric Market.
Thanks to EGPG’s 15-plus years of experience, the company has developed the technical and human resource capabilities required to add value to its customers’ business and thus meet their needs. In Guatemala, as is the case all around the world, Enel Green Power is playing a pivotal role as a pioneer of the energy transition and is helping its commercial partners on five continents to achieve their sustainability goals.
Within the Enel Group, Enel Green Power is dedicated to developing and managing renewables all over the world. It is now present in Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and Oceania. It also leads the world in the clean energy sector with an installed capacity of over 47 GW and a generation mix that spans wind, solar, geothermal and hydroelectric energy. In other words, Enel Green Power is in the vanguard in the integration of innovative technologies into renewable energy plants.
