Cleantech Solar, a leading provider of renewable energy to corporations in Asia, announces six new Vice President (VP) roles with senior members of the team assuming greater responsibility as the company strengthens its operations across Southeast Asia and India. 

With a view to improve efficiency, enhance its robust management team and set up the next phase of the company’s growth, Cleantech Solar has announced changes to its leadership team. There will be 6 new Vice Presidents across various functions and teams:

Alan has been appointed VP Engineering and Chief Technology Officer. In his new role, Alan will focus on value creation through driving engineering excellence and strengthening strategic technology partnerships. Alan brings his wealth of engineering experience, technical skills and unique business perspectives to accelerate technological innovation to lead Cleantech Solar into its next phase of growth. Prior to this role, Alan was Head of Engineering, Procurement and Construction where he played a critical role in the market entry and successful growth of key regional markets.

Dr. André will take on the role of VP Asset Management and Performance. In his new role, André will continue to work towards maximum uptime and system performance for Cleantech Solar’s assets in PV markets across India and Southeast Asia. He has been managing a fleet of hundreds of MWp of PV assets across the region. A seasoned scholar in photovoltaics (PV), André utilises in-depth knowledge and specialization in PV systems performance, analytical monitoring, simulation, and long-term behaviour to maximise the operational performance of Cleantech Solar’s PV assets.

Michael will take on the role of VP Business Development, Southeast Asia. In his new role, Michael will lead the business development team to originate, develop, and close the company’s business development opportunities and projects across various markets. Prior to this role, Michael was Country Head of Thailand during the market entry and rapid expansion of the business. Michael is a seasoned expert in the Solar PV industry, spanning over 15 years and hundreds of projects from the financing, development, engineering, and construction industries.

Prashant will take on the role of VP Finance and Operations, India. In this new role, Prashant will lead finance, operations, and capital raising activities in India as Cleantech Solar continues rapid expansion into open access projects. He was instrumental in setting up the India business including Cleantech Solar’s foray into open access projects which is the largest market for the company. With over 13 years of experience in renewable energy, private equity and investment banking with reputed firms in India, he has varied exposure in corporate finance and development, strategy execution, capital raising, commercial negotiations, structuring, P&L and operations management.

Raghav will take on the role of VP of Project Management. In his new role, Raghav will lead the procurement and construction verticals for the successful delivery of all Cleantech Solar projects. This includes driving commitment to risk management processes, adhering to the highest quality and safety standards, and coaching, mentoring and motivating team members. Prior to this role, Raghav was the Head of Project Management (SEA & India) and Head of EPC (Thailand) with a strong track record of delivery of 350 MWp across 400+ sites to support Cleantech’s aggressive build-out of projects from kick-off to commissioning. He has been featured in the ‘Solar 40 Under 40’ list by the prestigious Renewable Energy World magazine.

Raghav Malhotra:

Raghav will take on the role of VP Project Management. In his new role, Raghav will lead the procurement and construction verticals for the successful delivery of all Cleantech Solar projects. This includes driving commitment to risk management processes, adhering to the highest quality and safety standards, and coaching, mentoring and motivating team members. Prior to this role, Raghav was the Head of Project Management (SEA & India) and Head of EPC (Thailand) with a strong track record of delivery of 350 MWp across 400+ sites to support Cleantech’s aggressive build out of projects from kick-off to commissioning. He has been featured in the ‘Solar 40 Under 40’ list by the prestigious Renewable Energy World magazine.

Umakant Shende:

Umakant will take on the role of VP and Country Manager, India. Umakant will focus on driving delivery, growth initiatives and lead the company’s business in India, along with overseeing the development, implementation of and compliance with company policies, management plans and manuals from a technical perspective. He is a senior Business and Operations Management executive with over 30 years of rich experience in various capacities – general management, corporate development, product development, business operations and asset management.
